There are many forms of vision correction and laser eye surgery available. With modern advances in eye surgery we are able to correct virtually any type of vision problem, including myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), and astigmatism (irregular corneal curvature). In general, these procedures can be divided into two main categories: corneal based procedures and lens based procedures.

Corneal procedures are aimed at reshaping the curvature of the cornea and most commonly include laser vision correction, such as LASIK and PRK. Other corneal procedures include limbal relaxing incisions (LRI), corneal inlays (intacs), and even corneal transplants.

Lens procedures usually involve removing the natural lens inside the eye and replacing it with an artificial implant lens. Most commonly this includes cataract surgery or refractive lens exchange surgery. With other lens procedures, such as ICL surgery, the natural lens is left in place and the artificial lens is implanted on top of the natural lens inside the eye.

At Zion Eye Institute, we can provide all forms of vision correction surgery with multiple, highly skilled and experienced, fellowship-trained surgeons. We are the only office with our own in-house laser for LASIK and PRK. Using our advanced techniques individually or in combination with each other, our expert surgeons will customize your treatment and provide the safest and best results for your vision correction needs.
